Local Conference of the Youth (LCOY)

The Local Conference of the Youth was held on 4-5 February. The meeting was organized by YWCA & African Youth Initiative on Climate Change (AYIOC) with the core objective of:
- Providing a space for young people to showcase various clean energy technologies
- Informing the youth on best practices of renewable energy and nature based initiatives towards tapping green finance opportunities.
- To showcase various approaches in creative arts, as a means of climate sensitization.
- To raise the voice of the youth on various innovative ways of developing adaptation and resilience initiatives.
At the end of the event, every participant was requested to put into practice what they had grasped from the two day conference and to come up with ideas that would help to mitigate climate change issues.
