Networking, Partnership and Coalition Building Workshop –YW4A


YWCA Kenya, Young women, WROs and FBOs participated in a workshop on partnership, networking and coalition-building on 18 - 20 May 2022, in Nairobi, Kenya. This convening was aimed at facilitating access to advocacy structures by including WROs, FBOs and targeted young women leaders in the Solidarity for African Women’s Rights (SOAWR) platform to develop their coalition and movement building capacities.

The participants had the opportunity to learn about movement building through lesson sharing from the SOAWR members present such as KAFOB Burundi, IPAS and BAOBAB for women rights, Nigeria. In addition, the participants also learned about Movement- building-working across organizations (community based/county based organizations and national and regional organizations) and aligning values. The lesson sharing was done by organizations such as; 28 Too Many, Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA) Inua Mama Mjane and YWCA Kenya. The meeting enhanced partnership and collaboration of WROs with other partners as part of the YW4A project.
